As this season’s Presidential Federation Cup grande finale takes a center stage inside the mainbowl of Mobolaji Johnson Stadium Ikoyi Lagos, where Abakaliki FC will be up against Kwara United in a supremacy battle some members of the Ebonyi state Executive Council have call on players of Abakaliki FC to exhibit the common indomitable confidence of Ebonyi man to win the trophy and ensure the already ongoing silent celebration among people is not quench.
Speaking on the Development, the State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Francis Ori says the state Executive Council members are happy over the winning capacity showcase by the Rice Boys all through the stages of the competition even against perceived superior teams which guarantee their place in the final of the NFF age long traditional competition for the first time since the the State creation many years ago.
The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Francis Ori who said many of them will be travelling to Lagos to cheer up the team for victory charge the players to approach the game with diligence and ensure that the trophy return with them to Abakaliki.
According to Ori the players will be highly celebrated for their achievement after a successful campaign by this tier of government and others beyond their expectations and should only work hard for victory.
On his part,the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Environment Okechukwu Nwokoro argue that the players had showcased determination and hunger to excel in football profession within a season of their emergence and congratulated the players, management and the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Richard Idike in advance for their doggedness.
The Chief of Staff in Ebonyi State Government House Emmanuel Echiegu say Kwara United that have spent forty- nine years without the trophy can not stop Abakaliki FC enroute to this victorious history making adventure.
Echiegu charge the players not to be deterred by their opponent for any cause but approach the game with full confidence to smile home with the coveted trophy and further boost the joy of Ebonyi people due to pragmatic leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
